“Solveig was a master at writing melodies and creating lyrical stories and journeys. Her ability to write ‘in character’ was simply outstanding. Her vocal delivery is incredible on this album and every album we did!

In an interview, Solveig once said, “I am so tired of being seen as a soft pop artist where my hair and nails are the focus. I am capable of so much in my songwriting and performance. I want to push myself, and it is only now with the band, The AK Project and Azim, that I have done just that – not only in terms of my lyrics but musically as well. I have never experienced the freedom to explore as I have on these releases, to express, to create, and to honestly sing from the heart; this is truly and finally me, Solveig!”

My work with Solveig was always a definitive AK & SK collaboration from start to finish – encompassing writing, recording, production, and studio work in every area. Solveig was a keen observer and a careful craftsperson of every detail. Without her, the last album we did, ‘A Thunderous Exchange of Silence,’ would never have happened; it was a magical collaboration.” (AK)

In 2019, ‘The AK Project’ and ‘Comfortably Numb – Canada’s Pink Floyd Show’ lost their founding member, a brilliant musician and artist, the beloved wife, soulmate, and best friend of co-founder AK—an incredible mother, bandmate, and friend to all who knew her.

‘Always loved and missed so deeply, never forgotten, eternally in our hearts…’

The lyrics and melody in the song “SOLITUDE,” sung by Solveig, are haunting and beautiful. Solveig has always been able to embody a character and become that person… you can feel the heartbreak in the song. Stunning! Have a listen to the clip below and hear for yourself.
